More on XML in SQL Server 2005 (Yukon)

Posted 1694 days ago on April 16, 2004

A while back I posted an interview with product manager Euan Garden on SQL Server Yukon, which has been widely referred to as a summary of what is new; as I understand it, the product is now officially called SQL Server 2005.

Michael Rys, Program Manager in the SQLServer WebData group, has kindly posted some updates and clarifications on the key topic of XML support in the new SQL Server. Worth a look, as is the rest of Michael's blog.

Thanks for the pointer. Note that I am working in the SQL Engine team and not the WebData team :-).

Dr. Michael Rys of Microsoft discusses SQL Server 2005 support for XQuery,
SQL/XML and the SQL:2003 standard. Michael also comments about the evolution of
