Well, it looks like we got free wireless access (thanks Crowne Plaza), so expect blogging from DevDays NJ.
I didn’t bother to even try to get to DevDays for the 8:00AM start (my apologies to Steven Forte and Andrew Burst). There was no way I was going to make it in that early, and turns out the traffic gods did not fail me (1 hour delay at the Lincoln Tunnel tends to back up traffic all the way to the beginning of Rt. 3). Got in by 9:30AM, checked in, talked to Stacy and the folks from SetFocus, and bumped into Scott and Jason (along with a ton of others that typically attend the user group meetings). I’m in the Smart Client track, but don’t expect to stay in one place too long. Not much I haven’t already seen, but then again, I’m here to network, and not really learn new things. Maybe I’ll get a chance to write some code during the day (I’ve got the XmlReader enhancement stuff to work on, and I’d like to develop some skins for .Text).
We are still planning on meeting up after DevDays. Look for me or Scott if you want to hook up.

About donxml
I’m an independent consultant, specializing in .Net solutions architecture, based out of New Jersey who also doubles as an evangelist for XML, Domain Driven Design, enterprise architecture and .Net. I do not work for Microsoft, the W3C or any other big company that you may know of (at least not yet). I’ve been an indie for over ten years, and although I’ve been tempted a couple times to take a job with companies like Microsoft, I’ve haven’t found something better than my current situation. I work mostly with the large pharmaceuticals that are based here in New Jersey, and usually find myself on long term contracts. Definitely not the prototypical indie consultant, but it lets me dedicate time to my non-income generating activities like the developer community stuff, plus financing open source projects like XPathmania and MVP-XML. If you would like to talk to me about doing some contract work, just contact me via the contact page. My rates vary widely, depending on lots of different variables, but mostly distance from Jersey, and type of work. Plus, I’ve been known to donate some of my code for various projects.
