I'll be at NYC Bar Camp 2 on Saturday, 9/30/2006. It is sort of the non-Microsoft clique's version of Code Camps. A couple of their unique twists, all attendees are supposed to present/participate, there is no schedule of sessions (you just sign up at the door to speak), and they have a sleepover in the building Saturday night. I've seen this happen, but outside the event location, at the Boston Code Camps, and I deemed those crazy souls CodeHeads (ala Dead Heads). I wonder how many attendees will walk away with a better appreciation for Microsoft.
Me, there is no way I'm going to be sleeping inside the Microsoft office, and I don't plan on being there Sunday. But, I should be there all day Saturday, and I have some Domain Driven Design stuff that I want to try out. I'm going to just gather a bunch of people around, and walk thru a project that I've recently started. I've been looking to get some feedback from folks about the domain model, and this seems like the perfect time. I can write the code and the unit tests, while the audience plays the 2nd programmer. I've been looking to do something like this at a Code Camp, but it is so improvisational that I wasn't sure how it would turn out. Since this event is one big improv session, well, I thought it might be a good time to try it.
