    TechEd Coming Together

The Hands-On Lab area at Tech٠Ed is up and running.  As of last night the majority of our 800 machines on the floor were imaged and working fine.  (As always, there are some that just don’t want to cooperate and we’re having to beat them into submission.  Much like your work in the real world, I suppose.)

Corey Hynes and his team of MCT Lead Proctors put in a very long day yesterday – from 8AM to a little after 9PM – and they’re back at it again.  It’s really amazing to see how dedicated these folks are, and their willingness to put in huge amounts of time to make things work for our customers.  If you enjoy the labs on site, take time to ask for the Lead Proctor on duty and say thanks!

The photo below was from set-up day in our office – I thought it was a wonderful visual representation of what these folks have to go through setting up such a huge system in a big empty convention center in a few days.

I wanted to get a copy of the background info tool used in the Clustering Virtual Server lab to display information about the server in the wallpaper. I use bginfo from sysinternals but the one in the labs looked much nicer. Can you send me the tool along with the configuration file or can you tell me where I can download the tool from? Thanks mario.londono[@]gmail(.)com

Hey Dick, do you know how full of wifi the convention center is for T-E? Last year it seemed a little spotty in places in San Diego. Is it intentionally difficult to get wifi in the breakout rooms?
