I work as an Applications Architect for Capgemini in the UK and have been in the IT industry since 1985. I’ve worked on a number of platforms but have been primarily focused on the Microsoft platform since 1992. My first development project for Windows was a proof of concept written in a new language called Visual Basic 1.0, this fine application was demo’ed at the 1992 EPOS Show in London. Since then I’ve developed primarily in Visual Basic but used the move to .NET as an excuse to return to my C based roots and have now embraced C#. I also have a strong interest in software development process, and have around 6 years experience of using the Rational Unified Process and the supporting IBM/Rational toolset. The areas that I am most interested in covering at TechED are Whidbey, Burton and Whitehorse - aka Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, Visual Studio 2005 Team Architect, and Visual Studio 2005 Team System. As a final caveat, all opinions expressed in this blog are my own and therefore do not necessarily reflect the views of my employer.
